giordano bruno

Giordano Bruno was an Italian philosopher, writer and preacher of the 16th century.
His eclectic thinking can be found in the vein of Renaissance naturalism.
Bruno had a pantheistic conception of the universe, according to which there is not one world but a multiplicity of worlds and living beings.
The theory of the infinity of worlds is found in his work 'Spaccio della bestia trionfante', consisting of five dialogues between Jupiter and the creatures that gave their names to the constellations.
During these dialogues held in the kingdom of heaven, Jupiter decides to cast out all those constellations which he considers morally unacceptable, such as idleness, while he decides to keep constellations such as prudence, truth and concern.
Bruno praises the solicitude because, thanks to it, man is moved to act and thus become the master of his own destiny and create with his own hands, just as God created everything.
The philosopher also praises human activity in his other work, 'Eroici furori', consisting of ten dialogues divided into two parts.
In these dialogues he deals with two different ways of approaching reality: that of the wise, aware of the volatility of emotions and therefore of

the need not to be exalted or brought down by them,
